The small town of Siboney is located on the outskirts of Santiago (19 km). It is where the musician Compay Segundo (1907-2003) was born! Beyond the pilgrimage, Siboney can justify a small detour to visit the farm from which Fidel Castro and his companions organized the attack on the Moncada barracks, the first stone of the revolution. You can also go to Siboney beach. If its gray sand is not sexy, it is nevertheless crowded in summer and on Sundays: festive and popular atmosphere guaranteed! There are also a few restaurants serving simple dishes and refreshing drinks, facing the sea.
