Situated on the borders of the Cantal, Aveyron and Lozère, Saint-Urcize la Cantalienne is part of the Aubrac Regional Natural Park. The little town has kept its character intact with its narrow streets, its grey granite facades and its lauze roofs. The Romanesque church of the XIIth century, with its bell-tower with comb, dominates the city. Its small bell dating from 1583 would be one of the oldest in France, and its ambulatory guarantees that the city was in the Middle Ages a stage of the pilgrimage of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. It is an ideal starting point to discover the high plateau both in summer and in winter with its ski resort. Saint-Urcize is worth a visit.
