Flowing with peaceful days, this pretty fishing village takes pride in its industrial history (linked to shipbuilding), its fish farm and its marina. The town boasts a dozen islets, witnesses of ancient volcanic activity, which protect its bay. The white sea bottoms, 70 cm deep, lend themselves to beautiful maritime escapades by kayak or boat. The origin of the name Le Robert, formerly known as Cul-de-Sac-Robert, is uncertain. The region has led a quiet life since colonial times. Except for a few cyclones and the landing of the English in 1809, its fate has rarely been disrupted.
