In this region far from economic and tourist structures, this municipality has inherited the name of one of its most important inhabitants. Inhabited very early, from the 1st century, it shelters major sites (the archaeological sites of the Vivé and Fond-Brûlé dwellings), among the oldest on the island. Here, the banana is queen! With its neighbour Marigot, the commune of Le Lorrain was named Grande-Anse after the bay that surrounds it. However, despite its countless agricultural riches, the commune has continued to depopulate. For lovers of peace and quiet and wild landscapes, Le Lorrain is still a well-preserved land.
