To the west of Modane, perched on a mountainside, Saint-André is a small commune steeped in history which was once a well-known passageway when it came to linking Piedmont and Savoy via the Mont Cenis pass. Endowed with numerous hamlets, the commune of the Vanoise National Park is rich in remarkable historical vestiges and its highest point is none other than the Pointe du Bouchet at 3,420 m. Do you know what the inhabitants of Saint-André are called? Answer: the Saintandrenins.
