Chignin, or perhaps we should say Le Chignin? This charming village is perched on an unassailable rock that has stood up to the dynamite detonations of the 20th century. The remains of the towers of Chignin constitute a preserved historical place, whose architecture reveals an ancient fortified camp. The inhabitants are called Chignerains. If you have never tasted the AOC white wine of Chignin, made mainly from the Jacquère grape, you are missing out on a taste experience. This wine, to be consumed young, is ideal with fish dishes and should be served at a temperature between 8 and 10 degrees.
