Notre-Dame-de-Boisset is named after a little oratory built towards the year 1070, dedicated to the Virgin Mary and lost in the forests that cover the whole region. The chronicles of Abbot Prajoux recalls that Pierre the Hermit, the monk of Saint-Rigaud Abbey, came to gather a few days in this humble sanctuary to seek inspiration from his preachings for the crusades.
