Located less than ten minutes by car from Romans and some 7 kilometers from the town of Peyrins, it has just over 2,700 inhabitants. This commune, bathed by the Savasse river and numerous streams, is not short of places bearing witness to a long history. These include the châteaux du Gatelet and de Sallemard (privately owned and donated by Henri IV to Soffrey de Calignon in 1606), la Mèche (a 17th-century fortified house), the remains of the medieval château "Château du Roux" destroyed in 1580, the church of Saint-Ange, a historic monument on the hill of the eponymous hamlet, the chapel of Saint-Roch on the route de Margès and a motte castrale on its sandstone hill.
