From its eagle's nest, Rougon dominates the entrance to the French Grand Canyon. Its high location near the Verdon gorges ensures perfect tranquillity. It is not for nothing that centenarians are not rare in this country of hunting, fishing and excursions. This land once belonged to the Brun de Caille de Castellane family. It was Joseph Brun who gave it to the Abbey of Lérins in 1620, and who kept it until the Revolution. Here you will discover the remains of the feudal castle, the Saint-Christophe chapel and the Huguenot church. For experienced walkers, the route des crêtes, from Rougon to La Palud, is spectacular.
