18 km west of Angoulême. Angeac has a beautiful medieval heritage, with a 14th century church, wash houses, bridges and fountains which are all opportunities for photogenic breaks or bucolic walks. But it is especially for its deposit of mammoth and dinosaur bones (e.g.: a phalanx of sauropod, one of the largest terrestrial herbivores in the world, of 34 cm) that the site has known since the 2010s a growing tourist success. Many of the discoveries made here have enriched the rooms of the museums of Angoulême The town is crossed by the GR4 which goes from Royan to Grasse in the Alpes-Maritimes
