This small commune, which dominates the right bank of the Garonne, was once an important fishing port with over 1,400 inhabitants in the 16th century. Today, only 400 people live here, including 2 professional fishermen who have succumbed to the "white evil": the shad. The esplanade near the church, built in neo-Romanesque style between 1851 and 1863, overlooks the Garonne almost directly, which is actually quite rare in the region. A charming and atypical place to visit, it also hosts the Festival International de Journalisme in July, a not-to-be-missed event for the profession, with 3 days of conferences, debates..
