Saint-André, 128 inhabitants, has been part of Lamothe-des-Champs since 1821, the original site occupied by the Gauls. Coming from Samatan, you will see on the left the remains of an 18th century castle recently acquired by an English couple who have been working on its restoration. On the right, on a hillock overlooking the right bank of the Marcaoue, is the place known as La Vieille-Église, the original site of Saint-André. The present village is built on both sides of the D 217. Appreciate the stained glass windows of the church representing Saint-André, Saint-Roch and the Good Shepherd, which have been identically restored thanks to a document found at a garage sale in Gimont. Observe the insect hotel installed by the nature section of the Foyer rural behind the church. In the village, you can play tennis and petanque. It is also the starting point of several hikes. Among the events are the spring hikes, the Gascon festivals during the first week of August, the open-air cinema at the end of August, the disco ball at the beginning of October and the semi-nocturnal hike for Halloween, not forgetting the local festival held on the first Sunday after Saint Andrew's Day (30 November).
