A road winds its way between the rocks carved out by the Pîque river, which flows into the Garonne under the lofty gaze of the Pyrenees... Louis-Napoléon, Lamartine, Flaubert, Dumas and Rostand used to flock here to take the waters, and have all described this pretty town in their works. Today, Luchon remains Europe's leading spa for ENT and rheumatology. Follow the allées d'Etigny lined with lime trees and 19th-century mansions, enter the Parc des Quinconces, see the beautiful Thermes Chambert building and the vaporarium (a natural hammam unique in Europe), stroll through the parks and steep alleyways.
