Museum hosting collections of art objects and popular tradition, with a discovery of the history of the surroundings of Luchon.
Installed since 1926 in the small castle built in 1772 by Marc François Bertrand de Lassus-Nestier, the museum of the Luchonnais region (labeled Museum of France) houses a rich archaeological and ethnographic collection, gathered by passionate people. In 1922, the Julien Sacaze Society set itself the goal of protecting the riches scattered in the High Valleys of Comminges, and maintaining local customs and mountain traditions. Tools, old objects, prints, lithographs, history of skiing... discover the past.

je ne comprends même pas que le petit futé recommande cet établissement ! J'ai assisté à une visite guidée passionnante de Luchon par une dame de l'office de tourisme. J'ai voulu prolonger la visite en venant chercher des informations complémentaires ici. Il ne s'agit pas de ce qu on appelle un musée à proprement parler mais plutôt d'un collection d'objets nombreux, pas ou peu mis en valeur (les coiffes par exemple n'ont jamais vu un fer à repasser ou alors les bureaux d'écolier qui servent de barrière de fortune). Le plus frustrant c'est que la plupart des objets ont certainement une grande valeur culturelle mais qu'il y a un tel manque d'informations qu'on ne sait pas d'où ça vient et pourquoi c'est là. Ne parlons pas de l'état du bâtiment (plafonds fissurés, poussières dans les vitrines). Y a y-il un conservateur dans ce musée? C'est vraiment vraiment dommage. Je garde un énorme sentiment de frustration car il y a un potentiel énorme.
