In the pure tradition of Gascon castelnaux, Lagraulet-du-Gers already had the outlines of a village in the 11th century, but it was Bertrand de Lagraulet who gave it its name. Its keep and its main square tower were built in the Middle Ages, and even today, the remains of the castle, as well as a walkway and moat, can be seen. Pilgrims on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela have passed through the village since the 12th century, as the sculpted capitals of its church testify. Tourists appreciate its landscapes, its architectural singularities, but also its astonishing water tower transformed into contemporary accommodation.
