This village perched between Astarac and Armagnac at an altitude of 243 metres can be spotted from afar. Formerly occupied by the Moors and once fortified, it is one of the oldest castelnaux in Gascony. The main square with its half-timbered arcades is worth a visit. Just outside the village, a few metres from the Musée d'Artagnan, stands a picturesque windmill dating from 1726. The panoramic views and spectacular sunsets would be enough to attract tourists, but it was a certain Charles de Batz de Castelmore who made Lupiac famous. Doesn't his name ring a bell? He's the King's most famous musketeer, d'Artagnan.
