Of Gallo-Roman origin, this ancient bastide (1271) lies on the right bank of the Save river. The bastide phenomenon is a particularity of the south-west which developed in the 13th and 14th centuries under the impulse of kings, bishops and lords. It is a policy of land planning which aims to attract the population in a taxed space and contained in a simple geometry: the square. This village of 177 inhabitants today is home to the beautiful church of Sainte Madeleine built on the hillside near an old feudal castle that has disappeared. This church has the particularity of having an octagonal bell-tower with a slate-covered spire. On site, there is a city stadium with equipment to practice basketball, handball, field hockey. There is also a playground for children, a bowling alley and a river bank behind the village for fishing.
