Travel Guide Le Valtin

Two peaceful villages at the top of the mountains are Le Valtin and Grand-Valtin, which are also small family ski resorts in the winter. It is in this wonderful framework that Meurthe takes its source. There is also a beautiful th century church dedicated to Saint Sylvester, perched in a beautiful cemetery. Here the landscape becomes almost alpine and we will discover it better by browsing the numerous marked paths that dominate the valley of Meurthe. Try, for example, the one that starts from the Val Joli Hostel in Valtin, called the Panorama circuit. It starts along a creek, which is pleasant and interesting. The Grand-Valtin station (altitude 850 m) has two ski lifts for four ski slopes and cross-country skiing trails, and snow cannons. There are also two other Alpine skiing sites: La Schlucht and Hauts-Navières. Nordic skiing is practised from La Schlucht to Lake Blanc. Snowshoe rides are also possible.
