Nicknamed the "little Carcassonne of Lorraine", Rodemack is a charming medieval town in the heart of the Trois Frontières region. The history of Rodemack dates back to Roman times. Surrounded by a 700-meter wall, the town still carries the flavour of yesteryear, distilled in its typical alleyways, its architectural heritage and its art of living. These authentic assets earned it a place among the 156 Most Beautiful Villages in France in 1987. In 2004, the estate and château were handed over to the Communauté de Communes de Cattenom et Environs, which has been carrying out extensive restoration and enhancement work. Notable monuments include the bailiff's house, the officers' pavilion, the Notre-Dame chapel, the Saint-Nicolas church, the Sierck gate, the medieval garden and the washhouse. And let's not forget the village's surroundings, which offer a variety of walks in a splendid rural landscape! A medieval festival is held every year in June. It's an opportunity to discover the traditions of the period and the past of these alleys steeped in history. Falconers, jesters, knights - all the characters of yesteryear come together for this festival, which features dancing to the melody of minstrels, and gastronomy, thanks to local products such as honey, confits, terrines, wines and the inevitable hypocras, which is part of the decor.
