Nicknamed the "Small Lorraine Carcassonne", Rodemack is a charming medieval city located in the heart of the Trois-Borders country. The history of Rodemack dates back to the Roman period. Surrounded by a 700-metre enclosure, the city still bears its parfum of yesteryear in its typical streets, in its architectural heritage as a whole and in its art of living. These authentic assets earned him to be classified, in 1987, among the 156 "Most Beautiful Villages of France". It is in 2004 that the estate and the castle are transferred to the Community of Communes and Environs, which carries out numerous restoration and reclamation works. Its notable monuments are, of course, the maison house, the officers'pavilion, the Notre-Dame Chapel, the Church Saint-Nicolas, the Porte gate, the medieval garden and the washing machine. Not forgetting the surroundings of the village, which offer varied walks in a splendid countryside landscape! Note: a medieval festival takes place every year during the month of June. It is an opportunity to discover the traditions of the times and the past of these streets loaded with history. Falconers, fools, knights, all the characters of yesteryear are for this feast, which is conducive to dance thanks to the melody of the minstrels, and gastronomy, thanks to local products, honey, candied, terrine, wines and the essential hypocras, which is part of the decor.
