Bordering the departments of Meurthe-et-Moselle and Vosges, Lac de Pierre-Percée is located around ten kilometers from Baccarat. It is a 61 millionm3 reservoir covering 305 hectares. This artificial lake serves two purposes: to compensate for the water evaporated by the atmospheric coolants at the Cattenom nuclear power plant, and to support the beginnings of the Meurthe River. This mountain lake is shaped like a North American oak leaf, hence its nickname "Little Canada". You'll appreciate the peaceful green setting, with its changing colors depending on the season, the sky and the time of day.
