Situated on a hillside, facing the varied landscapes of the Yssandonais (orientation table at Chatenet), Juillac, of Gallo-Roman origin as its name in -ac- indicates, depended in the Middle Ages on the Pérusse des Cars family, then on the House of Hautefort. An ancient and medieval city, it is worth visiting on foot. Among the old houses with large slate roofs, admire the castle of La Salle which became a presbytery and the manor of miracles, built in schist, with a four-sided roof and turrets which was rewarded by the tv issue "masterpieces in danger". The gothic church has a curious bell tower with a gable.
