Trouillas is an Aspres village of about 2,000 inhabitants located in the Roussillon plain, which draws its resources exclusively from the cultivation of vines. Its inhabitants are the Trouillasencs and the village is crossed by the Canterrane river (translate: frog song). The first mention of Trouillas seems to date back to the year 833, but its history is linked to the Knights Templar who, in the 12th century, established the Commanderie du Mas Deu, in the neighbouring town of Villemolaque, whose Chapel of the Commanderie in Trouillas remains.
