Classified among the most beautiful villages in France, Mosset, is a village perched on a rocky spur at an altitude of over 600 m. It overlooks the Castellane Valley and lies in the heart of a remarkable natural environment on the road to the Col de Jau and its immense forests and further towards the Aude. An old fortified village, dominated by the ruins of its feudal castle, it seems to block the valley. Pretty little medieval town, with its steep alleys and remains of fortifications, in an idyllic protected site, it has seen the arrival of a few artists and craftsmen in recent years. One comes here every summer for its festival L'opéra Mosset.
