On the southern slopes of the Aubrac, before the Col de Bonnecombe, the massif falls towards the Lot valley, changing the landscape as the valleys deepen and the slopes are covered with beech trees. Even the geology gets involved: granite becomes rare and construction techniques adapt, as evidenced by the church in the village of Les Salces, built entirely of schist. Following a small road along the valley side, you reach the picturesque village of Les Hermaux, where you can admire an original drinking fountain. Further on, you can return to La Canourgue via Trélans, on a small road that runs along the border of the département.
