Mentioned as early as the end of the 9th century, Luc was originally a Gallo-Roman estate. In 1300, Luc is qualified as a castrum, which suggests that it was equipped with a fortified enclosure, of which no archaeological trace remains. The medieval morphology of the village is difficult to understand because of the many changes that have occurred since then (repeated destruction of the village in the 16th century). Already important at the end of the 18th century, wine growing experienced an unprecedented development in the middle of the following century. Today, the vine is still omnipresent in the area around Luc, and still contributes to the economy of the village and its 237 inhabitants.
