Situated in the Black Mountain, at the foot of the Pic Peak, the village of Castans consists of seven hamlets, overlooking the narrows and green valley of the Clamoux. Each has at least one fountain, church and town hall in the hamlet of Laviale. As a country of forest with various trees, creeks and roofing roofs, Castans is also the country of chestnut trees, whose fruits are celebrated every year in October at a convivial party.
