The castrum Limosinis is mentioned for the first time in 1260 and belongs then to the lordship of Cabardet. The latter was attached to the royal castellany of Tours du Cabardès after the crusade against the Albigensians. It then passed through the hands of several lords and families until the Revolution. The mining and cloth industry was for a long time the heart of the economy of Limousis. The Lacombe de Sault factory, the last vestige of the mining industry (gold extraction) in the region, operated until 2004. Today, the population of the village is less than 130 inhabitants. To see: the church of Saint-Michel and the cave of Limousis.
