The name of this commune, former lordship of Amboile, comes from the family Le Fèvre d'Ormesson, who settled there at the beginning of the 17th century. But it was not until 1758 that it was elevated to a marquisate and took the name of this family instead of Amboile. Ormesson-sur-Marne is a town of many monuments such as its Renaissance and classical style castle, its church Notre-Dame de l'Assomption of 1764 or its communal presbytery located near the town hall and built between the 18th and 19th centuries. Ormesson-sur-Marne also offers many walks, both in its many green spaces and in its flowered streets lined with beautiful houses.
