This Brie dairy village surrounded by fields already existed in Roman times, at the crossroads of two roads, one linking Chailly-en-Brie and Meaux, the other Coulommes and Doue. Today, the commune is divided into seven hamlets, each with an ancient washhouse (La Roche, Bas-Mesnil, Bourg washhouses, etc.). The area also boasts a 13th-century church and a number of characterful homes: farmhouses, Briard houses and manor houses, as well as two châteaux, that of Le Ru and that of La Houssière, all of which add to the charm of this piece of Brie countryside, whose toponym Aulnoy recalls the presence of alders that once served a variety of purposes.
