The history of Champcueil goes back to prehistoric times, as evidenced by the Neolithic Menhir des Buttes Noires which stands at the top of a small mound. One can also go in search of a menhir (or large slab) of 2,10 m height and located in the woods between Beauvais and Loutteville, at the edge of the road in the small valley... More recent: the church Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption-de-la-Très-Sainte-Vierge of the XIIth and XIIIth century. classified as historical monuments, the remains of a Chappe telegraph and near the Malevoisine farm, a geodesic marker which was used in 1669 for the first measurement of an arc of the terrestrial meridian!
