The «Route of Cauchois Cauchois»If the country of Caux often evokes clos-shacks, these famous traditional farms surrounded by hedges of beech, it is too often forgotten that in the midst of these shacks, parfois sometimes dominate splendides. Only the rich lords had the privilege of building a colombier, thus benefiting from all the advantages of the rearing of pigeons: volatiles meat was a choice of choice, and their excrement provided an excellent fertilizer for agricultural land. Most of the colombiers were erected between the Middle Ages and the Revolution, a period to which the right of colombier was abolished. All forms coexist, even if it is most often circular. The "Route des colombiers cauchois" allows to discover about 55 km of these little marvels of architecture and history, along the valleys of Durdent, Valmont and Ganzeville.
