Since 1824, the commune has included La Cerlangue, Saint-Jean-d'Abbetot and Saint-Jean-des-Essarts. Its name would mean "deer tongue", and perhaps it would be a reference to the deer tongue of the local flora, a scolopendre, a fern. The church of Saint-Léonard de La Cerlangue dominates the plateau of its imposing 15th century bell tower: its base is square, surmounted by a balcony on all its faces and its octagonal arrow is also made of the same stone. The nave is from the 13th century. Its all-stone composition gives it a venerable air. Its inverted boat-shell vault is typical of the churches of the Pays de Caux. On the side, a decorated side door is a beautiful Renaissance structure.
