The municipality is located in a meander of the Seine River, within the Regional Natural Park of the Loops of the Norman Seine. At Berville-sur-Seine, 550 inhabitants, the Seine-Maritime department operates a sea ferry allowing crossing the Seine to Duclair for cars and heavy goods vehicles. It should be said that the closest bridges on the Seine are the bridge of Brotonne in Caudebec-en-Caux and the Gustave-Flaubert bridge in Rouen. The communal territory was partly conquered on the Seine following huge drying works which allowed, in 1841, to transform 150 hectares of marsh into beautiful meadows. Of course, the pervasiveness of water has fostered the development of a large biodiversity, particularly in the area of avifauna, which made Berville-sur-Seine a site of great ecological richness.Water has also imposed its constraint: the village has developed along the edge of the non-flood zone. By the mid th century, 3/4 of the population were small farmers. There were two cafes, a grocer, a shoemaker, two basket, two fishermen and a ferry attendant. Today, the village still has two cafes: a coffee-shop and coffee shop. We come to Berville to enjoy the calm of the banks and to fish in communal lakes. And to borrow the ferry of course.
