A former fort of Normandy, the village of Nonancourt developed around the fortress built by Henri I of England between 1112 and 1135. The city was so ruined during the Hundred Years War that its inhabitants abandoned it for nearly twenty years! They are now 2 500 a. profit from this peaceful, tune and shopping town. This canton head, at the gates of Normandy (at the far south of the Eure), is in the heart of the Vallée valley. Some medieval remains, a portion of ramparts, a tower, are to discover but also the church, wooden houses, the studios… It is nice to walk around the streets and enjoy the tranquillity of spaces and green banks.
