The tiny village of Saint-Thiébaud is home to a medieval church dedicated to Saint Thibaud, an 11th century hermit and pilgrim. It is also the municipality in which Mount Poupet is located, a proud mountain that dominates Salins-les-Bains. You can discover it by following the "donkey path" during a hike in the forest and climb to its summit where Pasteur carried out experiments on bacteria. There is an orientation table. In good weather, the view of the Alps is superb. Paragliders and hang-gliders take off regularly. Those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground can participate in the Montée Internationale du Mont Poupet. Starting from Salins-les-Bains, this mountain road race takes its riders to the assault of the "Jura Olympus". It has 17.5 km, 649 m of positive altitude difference and 244 m of negative altitude difference. The next one will take place on June 8 and 9. Information at 06 72 35 89 74 and on www.montee-poupet.eu.
