Not far from Auxonne and Chevigny with its Comté cheese factory, a bouquet of flowers and plants awaits you in this village which has been awarded the label Villes et villages fleuris, 3 flowers. It also holds its plant fair every first Sunday of April. You can also visit a rich private garden of collections, in this case 400 hydrangeas divided into 12 species. Rainans was from the 13th to the 20th century an important wine-producing area and also had an open-air quarry which was exploited in the 1900s. Its first mention goes back to 1263. Other attractions include the church of Saint-Antoine, a fountain and the Buoton washhouse.
