With its castle, now privately owned, it was for a long time one of the residences of the Counts of Burgundy. The commune is also known for its church of Saint-Didier. But also by the presence of 2 historical figures. The first, François de Menthon, was a member of the Resistance, a politician and a lawyer. The second, Alexis Millardet, remains a pillar of French viticulture. This renowned ampelographer and botanist is none other than the inventor of the famous Bordeaux mixture for treating vines.
