The village of Besain is the starting point of a beautiful hike to discover the caves and other natural sculptures created by the karstic phenomenon. It is an exceptional speleological site with 1 200 faults on 500 ha. There is also the karstic path, an original walk accessible to all without difficulty. There is also an artificial lake in the commune, at the heart of a big village festival on the third weekend of July. Originally, as the water seeped in, it not only dug out and sculpted the soft rock on the surface of the first plateau, it also deserted it, to cascade down to the lower level. Through drilling and water conveyance, the lake was created to hold it back. It replaced the numerous basins and small reservoirs built over the years by the communes to retain rainwater, springs and small streams.
