Amange is one of the villages of the Greenhouse Massif. This sector north of Dole is peculiar from a geological point of view because its soil is very different from that of the rest of the Jura (read below in Moissey). Vegetation is also unique for the region. For example, is the greenhouse forest more beech, oak and charm than the other communes forests, but above all, it is the only one where chestnut trees are not uncommon. This is worth a chestnut festival that takes place in the autumn at Greenhouse-les-Moulières, north of Amange. A much more pleasant celebration than the story of a local character: Le Loup Werewolf, guilty in the sixteenth century of horrific children's crimes in the valley. Fortunately it is no more than a memory… and a theme for a very peaceful footpath.
