This charming village on the banks of the Auvézère is well worth a visit for its imposing abbey, listed as a historic monument, and its cave, discovered in 1995. You can also visit the small cemetery and look for a royal tomb: that of Orélie Antoine de Tounens, born May 12 1825 in Chourgnac-d'Ans, died September 17 1878 in Tourtoirac. This solicitor from the Périgord region dreamed, despite immense difficulties, of giving France Araucania and Patagonia. And don't forget to take a refreshing dip at the Clautre fountain (meaning "cloister"), an exsurgence from the underground network that you can explore during your visit to the cave.
