This beautiful village is part of the Saugeais Republic, of which it is also the economic capital. Its name dates back to 1330, and it is part of the Cougnet and Pré Soleil wetlands, a remarkable 40-hectare natural area listed on the national inventory of natural heritage. In 1974, the Chabod family created the Les Clochettes ski lift within the perimeter, which departs from the rond d'Amont at an altitude of 1,083 m. That same year, director Sidney Lumet chose the site and station for the filming of Le crime de l'Orient Express. The station still exists today. Don't miss Saint-Anne church, rebuilt in 1880, and the chapel of the same name.
