This valiant village, invaded three times by the Moors in the 17th century and stripped of its able-bodied men, was also known for its olive cultivation. Freshwater swimmers will find numerous natural pools on the Guado Grande river between the Marine and the village. The village is also famous for the Albu navy and the 15th-century Del Greco Genoese tower, built entirely of schist.
