ASHTANGA YOGA PARIS

Leisure and individual sports
5/5
25 reviews
Open - Close to 21h15

Who could have guessed that behind this heavy Morand street in the noisy Oberkampf district was hiding this little haven of peace. The two yoga practice rooms can be accessed by a Zen garden. The layout of the place, with Japanese inspiration, is well studied, with large sliding panels, beams, and long glass windows overlooking the garden. A soft atmosphere, smiling teachers: we feel relaxed before even starting the course. Here we teach Ashtanga's practice, a form of traditional Yoga, giving special care to alignment and respiration. Each session accommodates up to 25 people. It is better to arrive early to have a place. Three times a week, teachers in training animate community courses at 5 € for members, 8 €. Some courses are in English. Call before you know the entry code.

SHAOLIN MON

Combat sports and martial arts

The Shaolin Mon Association, chaired by Philippe Saint-Solieux, has been in existence since 1974 and has benefited for over 40 years from the experience of four teachers all masters of their discipline. Here, the 80 adherents follow the so-called Jisey do method, an energy path midway between taï-chi-chuan and qi gong. The two-hour courses take place at the Vaugirard Littré gymnasium (6 th) on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and are structured in two parts. The first part, close to qi gong, therefore mainly energy, begins with breath work and respiration, the first step of progressive meditation. The second part, closer to taï-chi-chuan, involves exercises in broad gestures to facilitate the movement of energy and the work of chakras. Martial martial applications come at the end of the course to give you the essential foundations of self defence. Friday is reserved for an energy dance course whose aim is to learn through different exercises to know his body for, sitting in session, to reach a real liberation, what to liberate from the stress of Parisian life. To achieve these goals, it is advisable to make two trainings per week and to continue daily the lessons learned.

Open - Close to 22h00

Many children love circus, not all can practise the circus arts. Firstly because the circus requires a quality that few children possess; that is patience. Agility, patience, concentration are all qualities that you will have to show your little if he hopes one day to stand apart in this discipline. At Cirqu'Aouette, children are welcomed at the age of 2. Initiation to the circus arts is possible at the age of 6, but for air acrobatics, like the trapeze, we have to wait 8 years.
