Monuments to visit Quebec

This seigneurial residence, perfectly preserved and furnished in its period, plunges visitors into the heart of the life of Louis-Joseph Papineau (1786-1871), seigneur of La Petite-Nation. An exceptional architecture and a rich collection of furniture and accessories will take you back in time. The estate has preserved many of its period buildings (grain shed, funeral chapel, tea house, etc.). Guided tours are offered.

It houses the tourist reception office near the museum.

This typical construction is the only half-timbered housing in Quebec and the oldest house in eastern Quebec. This house built in 1744 by Marie-Agnès Lepage, daughter of Lord Pierre Lepage of Rimouski, and her husband Basile Côté is the oldest house in eastern Quebec. The timbers give it a unique character, since this type of architecture, formerly commonly used, has become very rare because of Quebec's climatic conditions. Visitors will discover antique furniture (eighteenth and nineteenth centuries) and an exhibition of archeology and architecture.

Following the 1996 flood, the artist Jean-Jules Soucy designed this aluminium pyramid covered with over 3 000 billboards. A contemporary, original and spectacular work. Free outdoor entertainment runs from the end of June to the end of July (Friday-Saturday) as well as family entertainment on Sundays as at 13 pm.
