Located in the heart of Little Italy, this is one of Montreal's oldest public markets. It is distinguished by its gathering of local fruit and vegetable producers and by the diversified offer of its many shopkeepers, located in the central building as well as around the perimeter. The bustle is constant, summer and winter alike. Not only fruits and vegetables, but also flowers, spices, oils, cheeses, meats, fish, baked goods and more, not to mention the Marché des Saveurs du Québec.

The small museum, which tells the story of chocolate and its production process, is designed in a very playful way. Before the eyes of the curious, the craftsmen shape the precious delicacies certified "pure chocolate", original and delicious, in solid or liquid form. Brownies are the best in Quebec, at least that's what customers say. The classic Érico chocolate cake enjoys the same prestige, not to mention hot chocolate, available in a dozen varieties, and homemade ice creams and sorbets in summer. A must have!

Open since 1969, this gourmet grocery store is one of the musts on the Plateau. You come here mainly for the meat section, but you'll also find deli meats, fine cheeses, ready-made meals, Fair Trade Certified homemade roast coffees, and a whole bunch of small jars of various sizes that make your mouth water and make you want to buy everything... if you can afford it! Their unemployed pudding, a traditional Quebec dessert, is to die for. A specialty not to be missed!

A small find in the Outremont district, but we have to be quick! Here, only small quantities are made and it's so good that everything disappears in the blink of an eye. First known for its pastries, the house also offers succulent pastries made with butter or almonds. The Breton chef is faithful to his origins! For lunch, nothing better than a hearty salad from the Paltoquet, a quiche lorraine or one of the famous homemade sandwiches, to be enjoyed quietly on the terrace during the summer months.

Founded in 1979 in Lauzon, this chocolate factory has been going strong ever since, to the point where it has made its mark all over Quebec, as well as in Ontario and British Columbia. One of its first hits, ice cream dipped in real chocolate, is still a firm favorite, but since then the company has developed a whole range of succulent products, including chocolate fondue, dessert bowls and a host of other chocolate delights. Note that this branch is close to the Chaudière Falls park.

Located in the southwest of Montreal, near the Lachine Canal, the Atwater Market has been in existence since 1933 and its Art Deco architecture has earned it a place among the city's most beautiful buildings. Open all year round, it is famous for its many butcher shops and cheese shops, but also for its florists and market gardeners, who settle around the building in summer. The Market Square offers a beautiful space where you can bubble in summer, with a view of the canal: picnic tables, barbecues, impromptu concerts, there is plenty to do!

The first cider house to be established on Île d'Orléans, the Cidrerie Verger Bilodeau offers tastings of its own products as well as pick-your-own from late August to mid-October. Among the gourmet specialties in the boutique: apple butter, ice cider jelly (a delight with cheese!), apple juice, apple syrup, maple syrup, maple butter, duck foie gras terrine with apples, sparkling apple must, sparkling cider, raspberry mistelle and ice cider. This wonderful bakery specializes in traditional German sourdough breads and viennoiseries, made with locally grown grains and wholemeal flour milled on site, all baked fresh daily on the hearth. Their various experiments blending local flavors with European tradition have given rise to original products. To spoil you, a selection of strietzeln with seasonal fruits, pretzels, focaccia and other homemade products are waiting for you.

A veritable kingdom dedicated to the lord of syrups, Délices Érable & Cie's reputation is well established. Founded in 1999 by Citadelle, a cooperative of maple syrup producers, the place has been going strong ever since, and not by chance. Here, it takes on forms as diverse as they are creative. In recent years, the cooperative has added cranberries and honey to its predilections. You'll also find cookies, fudges, sugar creams, chocolates, coffees, iced drinks (with a special mention for maple iced coffee), gelati, sorbets and more.

This artisanal company owes its name to Île des Basques, located not far from Trois-Pistoles. Products include "kwick-kwick" cheese, but also soft and semi-soft cheeses with bloomy and washed rinds, aged cheddar, Gruyère-type Swiss cheese, maple wood-smoked cheese (delicious on the barbecue!), fondues and more. To complete your shopping, you'll find bakery products, prepared meals and many regional products on site.

We love the old-fashioned side of this grocery store, with its long aisles of fine cheeses, sausages, pastas, chocolates, freshly ground coffee, jams and endless mustards. And then all those smells... enough to whet your appetite! In addition to offering good products, the shop is a real show when you see the staff in action, always ready to answer promptly to questions and requirements. And our European friends will definitely feel at home here, with a touch of nostalgia as a bonus.

The large bay windows of this small but renowned shop are an eye-catcher. Once inside, you really wonder which delicacy to start with: macaroon, caramel (a must-try!), fudge, nougat, cupcake, chocolate-covered fresh fruit skewers, sorbet, gelato, whipped milk, smoothie... Seasonal festivities also bring their share of flavours, such as at Christmas, when we find gingerbread treats. Note that several products are adapted to the keto diet. Enjoy!

La Boucanerie Chelsea, an eco-responsible enterprise with a strong reputation in the region and beyond, offers tasty, old-fashioned, home-smoked products. On the menu: freshly smoked fish and seafood, all hand-smoked over maple wood. Prepared dishes (salmon spread, fish chowder, smoked salmon mac & cheese , etc.) are also available at the counter, along with a delicatessen corner featuring regional Quebec products. Marché Maisonneuve opened its doors in the early ^20th century, in a majestic stone building. A large number of farmers, grocers, butchers and fishmongers worked there for half a century. Closed in the 1960s by the municipality, it was thanks to the perseverance of local residents that market life was reborn in a new building, just a few steps from the old one. Market gardeners, bakers, cheesemakers, butchers, fishmongers and florists are all committed to offering fresh, quality produce all year round.

Marché des Saveurs is a unique boutique with a superb selection of gourmet products on the shelves. Quite simply, almost everything Quebec has to offer can be found here: from Magdalen sausages to dried wild mushrooms from the boreal forest, as well as a wide range of condiments, jams and jellies, maple products, Quebec cheeses and a wide variety of artisan alcoholic beverages.

This bakery is a delight for residents of the Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie neighborhood. On weekends, people come here to pick up the pastries that will make breakfast tastier than usual. Martin Maheux-Picard and Alexandre Deslauriers hold the reins of this popular artisanal dairy bar. Ice cream, sorbets, ice cakes and other delicacies are made entirely in their workshop. The original recipes have no added colourings or flavours, and absolutely everything is homemade (caramel, caramelized almonds, pistachio paste... and even the cones!).
