It all started with the experimental brewery and the idea of brewing new types of beer. Then food was added to the project. Established in a beautifully restored 19th century metalworking factory, this brewery restaurant stands out for the originality of its menus prepared with traditional products that go well with homemade beers. The dishes are hearty, pork belly served with apple sauce or lobster with its cauliflower purée. The vegan menu adapts to the rhythm of the gardener and his vegetables.

This restaurant is playing extra time with success since the site was already visited in 1539! After several fires, the restaurant moved into a vaulted cellar in 1750, a simple setting but with a touch of history! It is said that the place protected the frolics of the "mad" king, Christian VII, and his mistress... As the successive owners were originally from the island of Bornholm, specialities such as plankebøf (fillet of beef) are still on the menu. In the evening, tasting of Scandinavian plates (aften platte) and liqueurs from the island of Møn!

All the roots of the island of Bornholm are intertwined in the culinary preparations of Kadeau's chefs, a gustatory gift, a sensory journey elaborated for the guests of this increasingly renowned table that has been awarded a well-deserved star. The presentation is sublime, highlighting each local product and its chromatic palettes in plates that evolve over time. The atmosphere is like home with an open kitchen and an intimate room with a refined but warm décor. Michelin-starred haute cuisine!

A very nice bistronomic address, this little sister of KOKS, a starred restaurant of international fame. The setting is warm, the staff very communicative. You enter a traditional house in the old port, with blackened wooden floors and beams. The kitchen works with products caught in the surrounding waters (sea urchins, langoustines, capelin...) with surprising vegetable touches. Grilled fish skin, razor clams with tartar sauce, zucchini and rhubarb salad... and for dessert, a cardamom strawberry vanilla bun.

Forget the nouvelle cuisine and the plates with the laughing portions! Here, the plates are more than copious and enhance the Danish grandmothers' cuisine. In an elegant street lined with red brick buildings, in the half basement or on the wooden terrace, you will enjoy specialities: several preparations of herring, "Danish stew", North Sea plaice in white sauce, fjord eels or calf's liver and, for dessert, the famous, unpronounceable and delicious rødgrød med flød (red fruit and cream). Authenticity and generosity.

Like many addresses on the banks of the Nyhavn canal, this restaurant is housed in a building dating from the 17th century. A setting that has managed to preserve its ancient cachet. Honorable parquet flooring and open fireplace in the room. The cuisine, which is Danish and traditional, favours organic and seasonal ingredients. At midday, the smørrebrød formula is enough to satisfy a small hollow. Otherwise, the hungry will opt for a more substantial dish: grilled meat or seafood. We liked the grilled langoustine marinated in garlic. Heated terrace in winter.

An institution located in the "Glass House" at the beginning of Storegade. One of the island's most popular café-restaurants. Good Danish cuisine concocted by Chef Gunnar. The place gets very busy on Saturdays, so reservations are recommended (by phone only). Open since 2004, this is the home of David Jensin and his wife Annette. Have lunch by the window on the main street side, or retreat to the cosy, quieter courtyard and enjoy the sunshine and the view of the church's magnificent red steeple with its white stripes.

A large Franco-Danish brasserie under the patronage of the second Secretary General of the UN, photographed with John F. Kennedy, dominates the stylish dining room. The café area is more relaxed. In the morning, you'll be served hearty breakfasts and a variety of teas and coffees. Depending on whether you come for lunch or dinner, a variety of dishes are available à la carte. The classic recipes are prepared bistro-style: salads, remoulade, moules-frites, open-faced sandwiches or appetizing burgers (always well presented).

Salt Bar § Restaurant is part of the Admiral Hotel. Its particularity: a modern cuisine known as fusion: Scandinavian specialities are mixed with French or Asian influences. The menu changes every quarter, a sympathetic bias whose aim is to maintain an effect of novelty for guests who would like to come often. In this cosy setting, the evening continues at the bar, especially as dinner cruises or jazz lunches are also organised... In short, a nice opportunity to break the routine!

In half basement, this elegant restaurant has the wind in its sails! Warm lighting, long tables d'hôtes and high chairs, an address in the popular (but trendy) Vesterbro district where it's good to meet up, renowned for its gastronomic menu. We settle down next to unknown neighbours with whom we quickly make friends. This is the very concept of the place. If you want a little more privacy, specify this when you make your reservation. Refined cuisine and flavors are at the rendezvous. By the way, Cofoco stands for Copenhagen Food Company.

At the corner of two pedestrian streets, Humlechock welcomes you in a good mood. An address where you can eat or have a drink without ruining yourself, in a young and jazzy pub atmosphere. Comfortable benches receive you around tablecloths. Embellished with a terrace, inside you will find a large bar made of long and rounded zinc and leather seats with black all over! The menu offers simple dishes (burgers, salads, sandwiches...) nicely prepared and a selection of 9 beers on draught.

Nice restaurant with a very good quality-price ratio. A very French style with its large posters under glass of old French advertisements (inside). The cuisine remains in the spirit of home with mussels marinière, steak or pepper, onion soup or duck confit. The wines are of good quality. The owner takes the time to talk to his customers, to explain them the cooking he proposes. The plus: you are served an equally refined appetizer before your dish and the menu changes 4 times a year. Convivial terrace outside.

European-style food in this Viking-style trattoria. Ideally located on the waterfront, between the Viking Ship Sheds and Museum and the Youth Hostel. A very nice room with high ceilings, where you can have lunch and dinner in a bright setting, behind the huge windows overlooking the fjord. The terrace is just as pleasant. On the menu: oysters, ceviche, bacala montecado, Norwegian lobster, tartar with French fries, gnocchi... Enough to satisfy everyone with tastes that recall the south.

Feel like a little home-cooked dish? The Saint-Jacques will delight you with its traditional French cuisine. But we mainly come here for the home-smoked salmon, the Impérial Daniel Letz, named after the chef from Strasbourg. A la carte: Jerusalem artichoke soup, braised beef cheeks, well garnished sauerkraut, terrine of foie gras and elderflower jelly... You can eat in the brasserie-style dining room, under the gaze of a Christ on the cross, or on the beautiful, large terrace which in summer spreads out over the small square that gave its French name to the restaurant.

A gourmet restaurant where a French chef serves real Danish cuisine! For ten years, the restaurant has received two stars in the Danish Dining Guide! And it deserves it. On the menu with formulas up to 7 courses: white asparagus, scallops, peas and spring onions. Lobster or octopus, onion, bell pepper, chorizo and ink. Green asparagus, Skagen ham, egg and tarragon version; grilled Danish beef and tartar, onion, broccoli. Chariot of French cheeses from Mons. All elegantly laid out on the plate.

Fish restaurant in the heart of Frederikshavn harbour. The sign confirms the marine bias with its white trident on a blue background mixed with the letters of the restaurant's name. A beautiful renovation, a refined decoration (white painted wood, simple furniture, plaids to warm up) and especially an excellent cuisine. Fish but a varied menu with pasta dishes for those who are not fans of bones! It would be a shame not to take advantage of the large terrace, beautifully planted and above all sunny!

An institution established on the marina since 1947. This restaurant, which specialises in fresh fish, has since reoriented part of its menu towards more international dishes, such as the Viennese schnitzel or the burger, but still retaining a Danish touch (sea burger with plaice fillet, asparagus and prawns). Pink shrimps are served as a cocktail for starters with two versions of herring and homemade fish soup. Fillets of plaice, red mullet or salmon for the main courses. Concerts organized in summer.

Breathtaking view of the port. Very cosy family restaurant on the waterfront. Traditional Danish dishes are served, with a modern twist. The specialty: Kong Frederiks livret (ad libitum). Translate as "the king's favourite dish". Beefsteak with spicy cream, potatoes, chopped eggs, onions and beetroot or Stjerneskud, fried plaice fillet, shrimps, asparagus and smoked salmon, served with a red vinaigrette. The terrace is lovely in the summer, when you can admire the august facade (in a bright yellow) of this delightful address!
