This Lilliputian inn dates from the beginning of the ^17th century. The same owner runs the Dagmar Hotel. It serves excellent Danish cuisine. Watch your head: the house is divided into several small rooms with uneven floors and very low coffered ceilings. The furniture and decoration are a jumble of authentic old objects (earthenware stove, old clock, big cupboards, sideboards, china cabinets...). A small courtyard allows you to eat outside, between old brick walls. This establishment is also a hotel.

Noma, a restaurant that has been voted "Best Restaurant in the World" several times, needs no introduction. At the helm of a 2.0 version, chef René Redzepi. His cuisine is both elaborate and inventive, using products grown or caught 100 km away! And products that have long been forgotten. For this "chef-magician-revealer of flavors", everything is edible: the earth, insects, tree moss... and they are often eaten raw. This downtown tavern, opened in 1929, is approaching the milestone of 100 years of good, tasty service! Atmosphere of yesteryear guaranteed at the "Sans Souci". Dark wood, old photos, still lifes hanging on the walls, checkered tablecloths and bistro chairs, dimmed lights to take you back in time for a bite to eat. Smørrebrød and other typical recipes to serve you. The smartest way to get a taste of everything is to share a hearty home-cooked plate. It includes: marinated herring, prawns, pork roast and terrine, chicken salad and cheeses.

A warm setting where you will enjoy eating. Sit on the comfortable upholstered benches lined up along the wall. Put your elbows on the tables covered with white tablecloths and... watch out for the contemporary hanging lamps that are a bit low over your head! You will eat Danish specialties, like the usual smørrebrød but also onion soup, soups au gratin, braised meats or mussels and French fries... Alma also offers three gourmet brunches. Skovmøllen is a 350 year old paddle wheel mill in the middle of the Moesgård forest. A romantic place under a thatched roof: the setting is idyllic. The food is very Danish, carefully presented but modern in its renewed flavours, with a focus on local and seasonal products. Rune Aaby and his young and dynamic team run the place. A favourite address that mixes the past and traditional architecture with contemporary and gourmet cuisine. The weekend brunch is a real feast. Reservations recommended.

An old ^XVIIIth century inn where every autumn the game is honored. The building was a pigsty, a stable and a post office before becoming a restaurant in 1945. The owners have preserved the traditions and the typical atmosphere of the Fyn through the enchanting decor of the room and the fusion of tastes of local products from their vegetable garden. Today, it could be classified as a gastronomic farmhouse inn. Everything immerses you immediately in the past and in the freshness of the dishes that you will taste in the dining room or in the garden. Rather high end.

This address, you will see it from afar. A beautiful facade with a red gable, a set of curves and counter-curves enhanced with white on a tree-lined square. Managed by an association of unemployed people, Café Paraplyen is open to all. The setting is pleasant, old mirrors, clear walls and candles on the tables, with large windows opening on the street. But don't expect to drink a beer or a glass of wine, this place doesn't have a license to serve alcohol. On the other hand, coffee lovers will appreciate the very cheap prices!

A half-timbered house and a swinging sign, with a sea dog seal... happy! Very cozy atmosphere inside this 400 year old listed house. Enjoy the interior garden or the small terrace along the river Å. The menu features fresh fish (flounder, herring or shrimp). To taste: Baksuld, the West Jutland specialty, salted, dried and smoked flounder, served with rye bread and scrambled eggs. In the past, the fish was cooked in the embers, wrapped in newspaper.

You can't miss it, it's a small house with a grassy roof that you discover when you arrive from the passenger terminal, alone in the middle of the street. On the model of the Danish cafés, you can drink and eat cheap dishes flavored with dill, in a warm atmosphere. The room is not very big which favors contacts. The public is very mixed: one takes advantage of the relaxed and cosy atmosphere, one listens to a concert every Saturday evening when the beer is flowing! One can also be tempted by a shot of aquavit in the Faroese way.

Arken means "the arch". It's an exciting building that is visited by many architecture students every year. The building is based on shipbuilding principles, with upper and lower decks connected by a ladder. There's also an exterior control deck! In addition to its unique view of Køge Bay, it's a very popular restaurant. Danish specialties (herring, soup, shrimp), seafood (in summer), fish of the day. The terrace overlooking the harbor is very pleasant.

Under the clock! That's the name of this establishment serving traditional dishes served with house beer and old-fashioned smørrebrød. A welcoming, family atmosphere. It used to be a popular spot for workers, who came here to eat with family and friends. Regulars had their own glass marked with their name. One of these was the painter and writer Hans Scherfig, who rarely had enough to pay, so he would leave one of his paintings as a token. Today, his works are on display in museums... and on the restaurant's walls!

A place full of history and more than 250 years old. The setting is charming and the service meticulous and professional. Green and white checkered tablecloths, Art Nouveau style glass floral hanging, woodwork on the walls. A touch of nostalgia catches you as you enter this restaurant that has delighted so many guests since 1761. It's perfect, especially since you'll be tasting typical Danish cuisine, including the famous smørrebrøds or fricadelle served in pans directly at the table. Reservations are recommended on weekends because the address is very popular!

A small but friendly establishment, located just in front of the Marble Church, hence its name! The room is, as often, half basement. Inside, there are a few counters along the wall but above all a long table where guests can share their meal. The address is mainly frequented for its pizzas based on 100% organic products from fair trade. Probably the cheapest in town and certainly among the best! A la carte, with beautiful and hearty salads and well-filled sandwiches. Friendly welcome!

This hostel will appeal to all those who want to try traditional Danish cuisine.... And therefore the herring! At lunchtime, the buffet is a good option, not very expensive, as it allows you to taste the different recipes, about ten of them served with small potatoes, rye bread and butter. Finally, to conclude a Danish meal worthy of the name, there is nothing like a glass of aquavit. The house has about twenty fruity or spicy eaux-de-vie in its reserves. Every year in February, the Nordic herring championship is held here!

A renowned restaurant where they serve Feringian and Nordic cuisine revisited with mutton (sometimes fermented) and fish. The charm of the place makes you want to stay. A traditional architecture. Antique furniture as in a family home. A female service, welcoming and smiling. Sobriety, authenticity, originality in the decoration and in the plate, especially when you have the chance to have lunch on the table in the shape of a Viking ship! In summer, the terrace offers a panoramic view on the port. In short, we love it!
