These two large glass halls installed on the square house: one houses stalls of fresh produce to eat or to offer, food, delicacies to nibble, smell, decorate... And, for the other, stalls where you can eat. Depending on your preference, you can eat in or take away. Quality, choice, colors, many flavors from here and elsewhere (France, Italy, India ...). CONDITORI LA GLACE

Patisserie €€
5/5
1 review

This tea room, opened in 1870 on the initiative of a young pastry chef, Nicolaus Henningsen, remains a real institution in Copenhagen! Mahogany panelling, old-fashioned shop windows, brass counter, here is an unmissable address in the land of delicacies. You can taste the energy speciality, sportskage or "sportsman's cake". You'll understand that it takes a lot of breath to finish off the generous creamy portions! Ice cream is of course one of the specialities to try. If you're on a diet, the front of the shop is a feast for the eyes!

As soon as you see the shop window, your mouth will be watering with envy. Buka is a small bakery located near Kongens Nytorv. A small store with a high ceiling and a few bistro tables, a back room with bread racks and a tiny open kitchen with a beautiful copper bar where customers can sit and watch the chefs at work. It's casual, the perfect place to grab a snack with a glass of wine or craft beer, or for a well-deserved snack break after a busy day of sightseeing!

BRASSERIE FØROYAR

Gourmet products Beer and brewery

You can't miss it, on the other side of the ferry terminal, near the museum, with its emblem painted on the whole side: a ram seen from the front. You can visit. It is the best beer in the archipelago. In 1883, Símun F. Hansen went to Denmark to learn the art of brewing. When he returned to the Faroes in 1888, he set up his own brewery in Klaksvík, the second to be established in the country. The first brewery was Restorffs Bryggjarí. Since 2009, and the opening of an office in Reykjanesbaer, the company has started to export its products to Iceland.

RÚSDREKKASØLA LANDSINS

Sale of wines and spirits

This is the state monopoly store. The Faroese can find strong alcohol and wine here, and tourists can buy a few local beers that are stronger than those found in town. The Faroe Islands had the longest period of prohibition in the world, from 1907 to 1992. In 1985, a national referendum on the trade of beer and wine, and the service of spirits, abolished the ban. Nevertheless, the prevention of alcoholism goes through this state trade. The minimum legal age for the purchase of alcohol is 20 years, and the law is not joked about.
