GOOSE-STEP GORGES
Read moreHere, the Cère makes a break in the landscape. The river then seems to slip away in the rock. For thousands of years, the water has been tirelessly digging its way through the narrow gorges, "le pas". The site is exotic! It has inspired all the local or visiting painters since the 18th century. Moreover, the place shelters a fauna and a flora having known to adapt to the verticality and the weak luminosity. On the way, you can admire the Roucole waterfall or otters fishing.
THE STATE-OWNED FOREST OF CHANDELAIS
Read moreOf the great forests of Anjou, only a few are left, of which the forest of Chandelais is the most important. In the 15th century, King René used it for hunting, close to his residence in Baugé. Nowadays, the most remarkable trees of Anjou can be found there, oak and beech trees, as well as about fifty species of mushrooms. This 2,000-hectare forest offers numerous hiking, biking and horseback riding trails: 80 kilometers in total!

BELVEDERA
Read moreOnce reached the top of the village of Montfaucon, glued to the ramparts of Fort Chaudanne, a beautiful shaded view awaits the visitor a little curious. From this point you can see the citadel and for once it will appear all small. You can also see, the Aérodrome airfield or on the left side, the first Salt mountains, and with a little luck and time you can admire the highest mountain peak in France! On the occasion of a walk, the best place to enjoy an overview of the city Tagus and its monuments and the beauty of its roofs. If you go down through the hiking trails, you can be able to cross some chamois at liberty. This place is a popular place for students and young people to come and eat barbecues or simply drink a drink. It is not uncommon for some to take musical instruments to bring some animation. One of the most beautiful views of Besançon.
CASTLING ON CEZE
Read moreIf La Roque-sur-Cèze, half an hour by car from Bagnols, is considered one of the most beautiful villages in the region, it is not for nothing. Perched at the top of a hill, this small medieval village with steep alleys and breathtaking views will delight the lovers of old stones and authenticity with its typical houses of seemingly bisdious stone and glued to one another in a somewhat anarchic but highly atypical way. Walking around is a real pleasure, especially since even during the high season the hamlet is relatively calm and little frequented. Below, the Cèze runs its meanders between huge flat and white rocks where it makes it good to take the sun, relax or even picnic. Here, the river is also known for its famous "marmites", portions of the Cèze surrounded by the rocks. However, there are marmites where it is strictly forbidden to bathe because water makes it a siphon effect and may lead to bathers in the bottom. However, be reassured: The marmites do not cover the entire length of the river, and it persists in many places where swimming is possible, or canoeing. In any case, between typical alleys of flowered geraniums and refreshing river, La Roque -sur-Cèze is a real jewel combining charm and history, and it would be a shame to miss it if you walk around!
